The short answer
An OnlyFans agency runs the business side of creators' accounts (chat, posting, promotion and reporting) for a share of what they earn. To start one, set up a business, sign one creator on a fair written contract (a percentage of net earnings, a trial period and no exit fees), cover the busiest hours with chatters, track every traffic source and report every week. It costs little to start: the real costs are chatters, software and your time.
What an OnlyFans agency does
An OnlyFans agency is a business that runs the commercial side of creators' OnlyFans accounts in exchange for a share of their earnings. The creator makes the content and owns the account. The agency handles most of the rest: chatting with fans and selling paid messages, planning posts, bringing in new subscribers and reporting the numbers. Our guide to what an OnlyFans manager does covers each of those jobs in detail.
An agency is the team version of that job. A small one usually has:
- An owner who signs creators, handles the money and writes the reports
- Account managers who plan content, prices and offers with each creator
- Chatters who answer fans in shifts, often around the clock
- Someone on traffic, who brings in new subscribers from social media and promoters
At the start, one person can be all four. The roles split as you add creators.
Start with trust, not tactics
The agency business has a reputation problem. In June 2026 a BBC investigation into OnlyFans managers found contracts commonly taking 50% of creators' earnings and some taking 70%, fines for leaving early, and managers who took over creators' logins and payouts. OnlyFans told the BBC it is not connected with and does not endorse any management agency, and the UK's anti-slavery commissioner has since asked Parliament to hold an inquiry.
That is an opening for agencies that work differently. Creators now ask harder questions, and the ones worth signing compare offers. An agency that leaves the creator in control of the account, takes a share of net earnings and shows its numbers every week has the easier pitch. Build the business that way from the first day.
Step 1: Set up the business
- Register a business where you live and open a separate business bank account. The right structure depends on your country, so ask a local accountant before you sign anyone.
- Keep books from the first invoice. You will invoice each creator every month and pay chatters, software and promotion.
- Have a lawyer review your contract template. It costs far less than a dispute. Step 3 lists what it should say.
- Write down your rules: what you include, what you never do, and how a creator can leave.
The money flows one way. OnlyFans pays the creator, into the payout account set up when the creator verified their identity, and the creator pays your invoice. Never ask for payouts to go to your account.
OnlyFans' rules that now apply to you
OnlyFans' Terms of Service are written for creators, but an agency works inside them:
- The account is the creator's. OnlyFans' relationship is with the creator, help from a third party doesn't change the creator's legal responsibility, and the creator can't transfer or subcontract their agreement with OnlyFans.
- Everyone in the content is documented. Anyone who appears in a creator's content must provide the documents and consent OnlyFans asks for, and can withdraw that consent. The creator keeps the records.
- No search ads. OnlyFans doesn't allow promoting an account with Google Ads or any similar search advertising.
- Paid promotions are labeled. A paid post on OnlyFans carries #ad or a similar tag, the brand's name and who paid.
Step 2: Choose your offer
| Offer | What you do | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Chat only | Your chatters run the inbox and sell paid messages | Creators who post and promote themselves but can't keep up with messages |
| Promotion only | You bring in new subscribers and track every source | Creators who handle their own fans |
| Full management | Chat, posting, promotion, pricing and reporting | Creators who want to hand over everything except the content |
Charge a percentage of net earnings: what OnlyFans actually pays the creator, after its 20% fee. Agencies commonly quote 30% to 50% for full management and less for narrower deals. Some lower their percentage as an account grows, which makes the offer easier to accept for bigger creators. The net vs gross example shows why the basis matters as much as the number.
Step 3: Sign your first creator
Most good agencies grow through referrals: a creator who earns more with you tells other creators. For the first one, start with creators you already know or have worked with, and be specific when you pitch:
- Show the plan: which traffic sources you will use, what chat coverage you will run, which prices and offers you will test.
- Show the math: at a 30% share you have to grow the creator's earnings by about 43% before they are better off. The break-even table works it out for every percentage.
- Offer a trial: 30 to 60 days with goals you both agree on.
One more income line: OnlyFans' referral program pays 5% of a referred creator's earnings for their first 12 months, and OnlyFans pays it from its own share, so the creator's earnings don't change (Vice). It only counts creators who join OnlyFans through your referral link, so it suits agencies that help new creators start. Check the current terms in your own account.
What your contract should say
- Your percentage, and that it is a percentage of net earnings
- Exactly what is included, and what is not
- That you invoice after OnlyFans pays the creator
- The creator's content limits, in writing
- That the account, the content and the fans stay the creator's
- A notice period to leave, no exit fees, and an end to your access on the day the contract ends
- That you cannot sell or hand on the contract without the creator's written consent
A contract like this is your best sales tool now. The creator's side of the checklist is the one creators read before they sign.
Step 4: Set up access the safe way
The creator keeps the account's email address, its two-step verification and the payout account. Your team works through its own logins, so nobody passes a password around and nobody can lock the creator out.
That is what management software is for. In OFManager, every creator's account sits in one desktop app for Windows and macOS, each in its own isolated session. Every team member signs in with their own account, roles decide what each person can do, chatters only see the creators they are assigned to and activity is logged. If your creators are on Fansly too, their Fansly pages open in the same app, and your staff never see the password.
Step 5: Cover the busiest hours with chatters
Fans message at all hours, and a message answered in two minutes sells more than one answered in two hours. Round-the-clock coverage is 168 hours a week, about four full-time chatters for each busy creator. Start with the peak hours of your creator's fans, usually evenings in their time zones, and add shifts as sales grow.
Most chat jobs pay a small base rate plus a commission on sales: 73% of 611 job posts analyzed in October 2026 did. Our guide to hiring OnlyFans chatters has what chatters earn, how to test them and the numbers to track.
Give every chatter a one-page guide for each creator: how they write, what they will and won't do, prices, what is in the vault and the notes on top fans.
Step 6: Bring in traffic and track every source
Most agencies bring in subscribers from a handful of places, and each has rules that can cost the creator an account:
| Where | What the rules allow |
|---|---|
| Communities built for creators, each with its own self-promotion rules. Repeated mass posting counts as spam | |
| X | Labeled adult content, but not in profile or header images, banners, live video or ads |
| No nudity or sexual services. Links to adult subscription sites are shown only to adults | |
| TikTok | No nudity or sexual content, suggestive posts kept out of For You, and links to content it doesn't allow removed |
| Promoters and shoutouts | Paid posts by other creators. On OnlyFans, a paid promotion must be labeled as an ad |
Instagram and TikTok are for safe-for-work posts that build a following; the paid content stays on OnlyFans.
Give every source its own tracking link: one for each Reddit account, each social profile and each promoter. Judge sources by the paying subscribers and revenue they bring, not by clicks. In OFManager tracking links are unlimited at no extra cost, and promoter payouts are worked out for you.
Step 7: Report every week, invoice every month
Send each creator a short weekly report: earnings against last week, revenue by traffic source and by chatter, the top fans and what you will change next week. A creator who can check every number against their own OnlyFans statements trusts you, and a creator who trusts you renews.
Invoice once a month, on the net earnings OnlyFans paid out, and date the invoice after the creator has been paid for that month, so they pay you from money they have actually received.
What it costs to start an OnlyFans agency
| Cost | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Business registration | Depends on your country, usually a small one-off fee |
| Contract review | A lawyer's fee, once |
| Software | OFManager's first creator account is free, then from $15 a month per account, priced by what each account earns |
| Chatters | From a few dollars an hour to a share of chat sales, depending on the country; most job posts offer a base plus commission |
| Promotion | Free if you do it yourself, more if you pay promoters or for shoutouts |
Here is one creator's month as an example, with one chatter on the busiest hours paid at the median rate in those job posts:
| One creator, one month | Amount |
|---|---|
| The creator's net earnings, paid by OnlyFans | $8,000 |
| Your share at 30% of net | $2,400 |
| One chatter, about 170 hours at $3 an hour plus 3% of $5,000 in chat sales | -$660 |
| OFManager, your first creator account | $0 |
| Left for your time, promotion and profit | $1,740 |
Every number here is yours to change, but the shape holds: chat is the biggest cost, and it grows with every shift you add, so add shifts when the sales justify them.
Mistakes that sink new agencies
- Taking control of the account. It is what the BBC investigated, and OnlyFans says it steps in when a creator is not in control of their account.
- Exit fees and long lock-ins. They stop creators signing, and they stop the good ones renewing.
- Promising numbers. Promise a plan and a report, not an income.
- Not tracking traffic. Without tracking links you can't tell which work pays.
- One creator. If one account is all your income, one bad month is your whole business.
- Breaking platform rules. A banned social profile costs the creator their traffic, and you the client.
- Chatters without a guide. Fans notice when the voice changes, and they stop buying.
FAQ
How much does it cost to start an OnlyFans agency?
Very little up front: a business registration, a lawyer's review of your contract and management software (OFManager's first creator account is free). The real costs come with growth: chatters, promotion and your own time.
What percentage should an OnlyFans agency take?
Agencies commonly quote 30% to 50% of the creator's net earnings for full management and less for narrower deals such as chatting only. Take your percentage of net, what OnlyFans actually pays the creator, and avoid exit fees: creators now compare offers.
Is it legal to run an OnlyFans agency?
Agencies are ordinary service businesses in most countries, but contracts, employment, tax, data protection and adult content rules all depend on where you and your creators are. Talk to a local lawyer and accountant before you sign your first creator. OnlyFans says it does not endorse any agency, and the account always stays the creator's.
How do OnlyFans agencies find creators?
Mostly through referrals from creators they already manage. To start, approach creators you know with a specific plan, a fair contract and a trial period rather than promises of income.
What software do OnlyFans agencies use?
Agencies use management software that puts every creator's account in one place and gives each team member their own login. OFManager is a desktop app for Windows and macOS with team roles, chatter analytics, mass messages, a fan CRM and unlimited tracking links, and your first creator account is free.
Can I start an OnlyFans agency on my own?
Yes. Most agencies start with one person doing the chat, posting, promotion and reporting for one creator. Hire chatters first, for the busiest hours, once one creator's inbox is more than you can answer.
